Brave The Sea

No Whiskey No Rum

We were sailing forty days and forty nights out on the tear
When our ship was met with vicious winds just outside of St. Claire
Half the crew fell overboard and half the crew stood strong
But still half of those drowned standin' up for this storm was so strong

We hid ourselves inside the hull and started drinkin' rum
We thought our lives were over but then we saw the sun
We opened up the hatch to view upon the land
And there we saw a hundred pretty ladies in the sand

But we were dry
Like the sand-a-lie-da-lay
We were dry
Like a priest-a-lie-da-lay
We were dry
Like your mum-da-lie-da-lay
There's no whiskey there's no rum-da-lie-da-lay

Well the crew was in dismay for we knew not what we drank
We thought our lives were over and the ship was gonna sink
We opened every barrel, every cranny, every chest
But we sure did drink the booze and the ocean took the rest

See we all be romantics and want a girl upon our arm
But we're also bloody pirates and haven't any charm
Maybe we could send our captain out to woo?
*insert something embarrassing* We're doomed!

But we were dry
Like the sand-a-lie-da-lay
We were dry
Like a priest-a-lie-da-lay
We were dry
Like your mum-da-lie-da-lay
There's no whiskey there's no rum-da-lie-da-lay

We finally worked the courage to leave our shipwrecked home
And venture out into where all the pretty ladies roam
We were scared, we were helpless, we were sweaty, we were dumb
We hoped we looked like gentlemen but knew we looked like scum

Nonetheless I walked up to a maid with amber hair
Into her ocean eyes forever I could stare
She smiled and took my hand and said "My name is Misty
And all us girls are shipwrecked too but we still got some whiskey!"

And we danced
in the sun-da-lie-da-lay
Yeah we danced
Til the moon-da-lie-da-lay
Yeah we danced
All of our cares away
We had whiskey we had rum-da-lie-da-lay
